I'm pinterested. No really, I follow....

Well, since I have gone to great lengths (The limits of my smart phone data plan and beyond) I decided that since I am a fat girl (and hopefully recovering from that) and I love pinterest and food, and recipes, to create a blog where I can tell the tales of my cooking these recipes that food stylists everywhere painstakingly put those beautiful and tempting pictures of their "finished product" from following those instructions they have provided you below. Well, how many times have you done those instructions TO THE FREAKING LETTER and POOF - they turn out to look like you did it blind and no where as good as those beautifully made pictures. Take this one for example: Broccoli Beef crock pot recipe
Crock pot Broccoli Beef from http://www.keyingredient.com/recipes/379311834/crockpot-beef-and-broccoli/
Beautiful, isn't it??? Look at the GLOSSY sauce on that beef, doesn't your mouth just water???? Mine did too, then I made it.....and here's what mine looked like:

Doesn't that make your mouth water less?? Not to mention, if I didn't add the ginger (that they never had in the recipe that is above) it wouldn't have had much flavor. It was a bit too salty for my taste (Both soy sauce and beef consume in the recipe! I used low sodium soy sauce but it was still too much), and - they never said to sear the beef on the stove top, so what I have looked a bit like chip beef or shredded beef, in fact, my husband that I had made pot roast since that's what he smelled when he came home, but then thought it was some sort of loose meat roast? Yeah, some important steps were not there, or were not considered. Is this recipe banished for all time? No, not at all, I will have to change my method and try to cook it again, perhaps to make it look like the above picture.....at least, the meat staying together would have been fantastic!
So this is my point to my blog. I will make mistakes, and hopefully, someone else can either enjoy learning from them, or at least laugh at my stupidity when it comes to cooking!

ENJOY! (Recipe for Broccoli Beef Crockpot <click on the link, I encourage you to take a look, and hey, maybe even beat me at my own game! Try it out and see if you could make it work better than I did!)

Noel - Yes, I lick the spoon, only when I'm cooking for the boys of this house.
